The Closing Bell: Wall St. Modestly Higher In wake Of Payrolls Report

FYI: U.S. stocks rose Friday, putting the market in place for weekly gains, as the closely watched jobs report came in weaker than Wall Street’s consensus estimate, suggesting that the Federal Reserve may hold off on hiking interest rates when policy makers meet later this month. However, the market pared gains as some investors sold off to pocket short-term profits ahead of the long weekend.
