The Closing Bell:Wall Street Steps Back From Record Highs: Oil, REITs, Up:Gold, Health Care Down
FYI: U.S. stocks slipped Monday as declines in health-care shares offset gains in energy stocks. Oil companies around the world were getting a boost after weeks of concern about a glut of gasoline briefly sent crude to a four-month low. The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries has informal talks planned for September, raising hopes for an output freeze and sending U.S. oil prices up 2.5% to $42.83 a barrel Monday.
