FYI: U.S. stocks paused Thursday after two days of strong gains as crude prices retreated from $50 a barrel and investors brushed off better-than-expected economic reports. Meanwhile, utility stocks rebounded fiercely, a good sign that U.S. interest rates aren’t likely to rise swiftly amid the dull economic recovery.
