[Sudhir] Nanda has been managing T. Rowe's Diversified Small-Cap Growth Fund for about a decade. The fund functioned as a proof of concept for his methods. It's now been renamed the QM U.S. Small-Cap Growth Equity Fund. "It wasn't something which happened overnight," Nanda said. I own several TRP funds and appreciate their investing style, philosophies, and low costs. That said, I'm sad to see TRP feeling the need to roll 'me-too' niche funds that capitalise on a the latest investment fad of 'smart beta' or 'quantitative' analysis .... I guess AQR's PR machine/success is forcing everyone into this space now?
Love their solid low-risk, low-cost offerings like PRWCX, TRRIX and RPSIX. Seldom venture into their more aggressive funds, though they have some excellent mid-higher risk funds as well. Been using PRNEX as a play on undervalued energy/nat resources, but cutting back in recent weeks.
Continues to be the most client friendly & professionally run company I've dealt with.
@rforno I really hope that isn't the future, but no tellin' --- new Chief, so maybe many more new "visions" coming:
