The Closing Bell: Stocks Lower As Rally Loses Steam And Wall St. Faces 2nd day Of Losses

FYI: US. stocks were saddled with losses Tuesday, though trading off their intraday lows, as fears about global economic health dog the market and fuel selling in traditionally riskier assets.

Stock-market indexes in Europe SXXP, -1.90% and Japan were sharply lower, pressuring U.S. stock benchmarks from the get-go. A gauge of service-sector activity suggested first quarter U.S. growth might not be as weak as some had expected, allowing U.S. indexes to trim earlier deeper losses
