Inc. Magazine offers "If the stock market is making you nervous, here's where to put your money"

The closest thing I can adduce as an answer are "equity index funds." Why that's an answer is beyond me.

ETFs are "more liquid" than mutual funds because funds don't price intra-day? That's not exactly a measure of liquidity.

Funds have managers and higher expenses, therefore are appropriate only to more sophisticated investors?

Good golly Miss Molly but this story feels like it's from Georgia Tech.
