Lipper: Chart Of The Week: Over-Invoicing Makes China’s Trade Data Increasingly Hard To Believe

FYI: Chinese trade data for the month of February were puzzling, with a sharp fall in the value of imports, but an even greater fall in exports. Trade data are volatile and the timing of China’s New Year celebrations can also make interpretation difficult. That said, the data appear to be distorted by a strong desire to get assets out of renminbi and into foreign currency.
