Verizon,Samsung smart phone,use in France. Any comments about Verizon's int'l.,short term call/text

Have looked through Verizon's FAQ's, international use plans and a few other "forum" sites regarding calls and texting from France, back to the U.S.
All seems fairly straight forward as to short term plan pricing and choices for use for calling and texting.

The Samsung Galaxy phone is ready to go for this purpose and meets any technical requirements from Verizon for international use. The phone to be used is already within a U.S. calling plan.

One area I have not resolved at this point is whether "roaming" would need to be disabled during some time periods to eliminate charges. But, I have not searched this question yet.

I ask this sharp group of thinkers here if there are other considerations or if you have discovered any flaws or problems from using Verizon's short term international pricing plans. Your experiences are most welcome in this matter.

Thank you in advance for any additional input.

Catch
