S&P 500, Dow ETFs Close Out Grim January On Bullish Note

FYI: Major U.S. stock index ETFs rallied strongly into the close Friday. Investors cheered upbeat earnings from tech heavyweights Microsoft (MSFT) and Skyworks Solutions (SWKS), shrugging off news of a sharp slowdown in U.S. GDP growth in the last quarter.

Exchange traded funds tracking the S&P 500 and Dow Jones industrial average bagged a 2.4% gain, ending near session highs.

For the week, they bagged a roughly 2% gain.

For January, they bagged an approximate 5% loss.
