FYI: U.S. stock futures on Tuesday pointed to a lower open, but have erased steeper losses that came after sizable falls for oil and Chinese markets.

Investors are taking in earnings from Procter & Gamble Co., 3M Co. and Johnson & Johnson before the open. Readings on home prices and consumer confidence are expected as well, along with Apple Inc.’s quarterly results after the close.
