FYI: Large-cap growth mutual funds are the top-performing U.S. diversified stock fund category over the past five years. Their 11.47% average annual gain over that period tops the 10.58% average yearly return through Dec. 18 by their kissing cousins, large-cap blend funds, which were the second-best-performing category tracked by Morningstar Inc.
