FYI: When a big corporate merger story registers a straight hit on your investment portfolio, it’s news you must deal with.

So when Pfizer PFE, +1.27% recently announced a $160 billion merger with Allergan AGN, +1.13% to become a pseudo-Irish company with a much lower domestic tax bill, it had some investors re-evaluating how they feel about so-called “tax-inversion” deals.
