Which kinds of campaign donations lead to more polarized legislatures?

You’ll be surprised by the answer.

"Lower contribution limits can lead either to more moderate legislatures or to more polarized legislatures. It all depends on what type of money is limited."

An interesting article, and while counterintuitive, I have to say that it does make a lot of sense.

That is interesting. It sounds like the more centrist politicians tend to be the same ones who are more willing to broker compromise deals that permit them to funnel some pork to the major special interest business groups that financially supported them. I guess the two traits would tend to go hand in hand. It's something to think about on election day.
