FYI: Every three months the Federal Reserve releases an enormous pile of numbers. It’s called “Z.1 Financial Accounts of the United States.” It examines the flow of funds through our economy and the balance sheets of different sectors. It’s good bedtime reading. My personal favorite is the “Household Balance Sheet” because it tells us how we are doing, collectively, by reporting on our holdings of all kinds of assets.
