Totally OT- History: US Navy at Ulithi Atoll, 1944/45

edited October 2015 in The OT Bullpen
For anyone here who might share an interest in WW2, here's a link to a really remarkable set of photographs. I served in the US Coast Guard as an electronics tech, and spent a year at a Loran station in a very remote and isolated part of the Philippines in 1957/58. The feel of these pics certainly brings back those memories (although there were only 14 of us at that station). Also anyone who remembers the movie "South Pacific" will see that they did a pretty good job of capturing the atmosphere of the South Pacific at that time.
