WealthTrack: Guest: James Grant, Founder And Editor Of Grant’s Interest Rate Observer
FYI: Are dangerous cracks already appearing in the foundations of the world’s bond markets? In a rare interview, financial historian and bond market analyst James Grant, publisher of Grant’s Interest Rate Observer warns of the building investment fault lines. Regards, Ted http://wealthtrack.com/recent-programs/grant-market-dangers/
He's an interesting guy. I could not follow him into gold, though. The rest of it was quite interesting. And he claims we are in a bear market already, both re: bonds AND stocks. .......Hmmmmmm.
What a great sleep-inducer. Must be a student of William F. Buckley. "Subliminal realization" That's a good one!
Couldn't make it all the way to the end. What did he finally recommend people invest in now? (Gold I'd suspect.)
I've watched Grant off-and-on for many years. He's never been a cheerful soul. Further, I think you'd be hard pressed to go back over the past decade and find any "actionable advice" from him that made you money during that period.

Yep, you got it, Hank. The guy's a classic hard-money gold bug, and he pretty much said central banks shouldn't exist. The only piece missing was the (da-da!) return to the gold standard.
Consuelo is usually a little more, um, selective in who she brings on the show; this was not the usual top-tier interviewee. (Arnott, for one example, is a hard-money guy too, but at least he's got some interesting things to talk about besides that.)
