  • Not sure I agree equal-weighting = 'smart beta' ... sounds more like they're using that term to suggest "something different and new!" versus what most industry folks term as 'smart beta.'

    I suspect fund companies will use 'smart beta' to mean 'not indexed' or 'not weighted by market cap' in describing their funds.
  • I paired the equal weighted RHS with XLY, cap weighted and they seem to work well together. Its likely notfor everyone, but it seems to work for me. As ive said before, I like when one zigs and the other zags and they dont all do the same thing.
