DAILYALTS; Carlyle and TCW Extend Push Into Liquid Alternatives Space

FYI: The Carlyle Group’s initial foray into the liquid alternatives space didn’t go as planned. Back in December 2013, the firm filed a registration statement with the S.E.C. for the launch of two alternative mutual funds. The first fund was launched on August 1, 2014 (the Carlyle Core Allocation Fund, a risk-parity style fund), but was shut down just nine months later. The the second fund, a long/short commodities fund, never got off the ground.
Regards,
Ted
