FYI: Some banks reported quarterly earnings and retail sales data came in short, but it was a pretty ho-hum day in the markets. No overseas markets collapsed or rocketed higher, and Greece… well, let’s put it this way: they still need money they don’t have. No matter, as the S&P 500 rose for the fourth day in a row, its first four-day heater in six months. Bond prices rose, too, since weak economic data might give pause to Federal Reserve policy makers when it comes to rising interest rates
