Junk Bonds Are Still The Top Performer In U.S. Fixed Income
FYI: After a strong first quarter, U.S. fixed-income investors are bracing to end the second quarter on a weak note, weighed down by rising Treasury yields and a continued flood of supply.
Total issuance of investment-grade and high-yield bonds, including financial institutions, came to about $473 billion in the period, according to Dealogic data, up from $465 billion a year ago. That has pushed the year-to-date total to $934.2 billion from $864.6 billion a year ago, showing borrowers have continued to take advantage of low interest rates.
