Does It Really Matter Exactly When The Fed Raises Rates?

FYI: If there’s one message that Janet Yellen, Federal Reserve chairwoman, tried to hammer home in her news conference on Wednesday, it is this: Don’t make so much effort to discern the precise timing of the Fed’s decision to raise interest rates, which 15 of 17 Fed officials think is likely to be warranted by the end of this year.

With her words, she was showing the yawning gap that can appear between Economics 101 and Markets 101.
