FYI: The Vanguard Dividend Appreciation ETF (VIG) is one of the few investments many people can agree on. No investment is perfect, but the fund offers an acceptable (not amazing) dividend yield of 2.15%. It also has a solid history of growing dividends over time, as the ETF holds companies that have shown a clear commitment to giving dividends to their shareholders. While investors may reasonably feel that a higher yield would be more attractive, VIG offers some major benefits.
