Franklin Templeton's Michael Hasenstab Readies For US Rate Rise

FYI: (Click On Article Title At Top Of Google Search)
Franklin Templeton Inc. fund manager Michael Hasenstab invested about $7 billion in conflict-torn Ukraine, where he is the biggest investor in the country’s bonds. But his focus is on the prospect of rising U.S. interest rates.

“When U.S. interest rates start going higher, we don’t know what the full shakeout will be,” Mr. Hasenstab told The Wall Street Journal in an interview.

About 2% of the flagship Templeton Global Bond Fund, which Mr. Hasenstab oversees, is invested in Ukrainian bonds. The investment’s value has about halved over the past year amid violence in the east of the country.
