Utility Stock ETF Jumps After Key Regulatory Approval

FYI: ( The linkster's largest holding NI up 1.35% today.) Utility stocks are helping Wednesday’s rally after regulators approved a plan to bolster capacity for the largest U.S. power grid when it’s needed most.

Dynegy (DYN) jumped 6.4%, and NRG Energy (NRG), added 4% after the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission voted in favor of a plan to pay power-generation companies that promise to step in during peak hours. The Utilities Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLU) added 0.7%, its biggest one-day advance in nearly a month.
