MSCI Won’t Add ‘A-Shares’ to Emerging Markets Indexes — Yet

FYI: ‘s much anticipated ruling as to whether its widely followed emerging-markets indexes will include China’s mainland stock market is in:
No dice.

But the index company paved the way for inclusion down the road, announcing the creation of a “working group” with China’s main securities regulator to hammer out outstanding concerns about the openness of China’s capital markets. Foreign investors can only buy allocations of Chinese stocks in quota allocations, for one thing.
