Long-Term ETF Fees In Two Charts

FYI: A major advantage of most exchange-traded funds is lower costs. Fund companies can charge less to track an index than research and pick stocks.
ETF fees have been coming down all over the world, and are lowest in the U.S., but they have come down not uniformly across asset classes.
