FYI: Large U.S. companies are almost done reporting first-quarter earnings, and neither the results nor the forecasts are pretty. Many money managers are betting that U.S. stocks will keep rising anyhow, but that represents a gamble that corporate profits later this year will be stronger than analysts currently project.
