FYI: Friday’s main event: an April non-farm payrolls number that showed a growing economy that nonetheless stands to benefit from ultra-low interest rates for a while longer. Stocks and bonds rose after the jobs report gave the Federal Reserve cover not to rush headlong into the first interest rate hike in nine years. Thus, a tumultuous week ended with a euphoric, cross-asset rally. A political victory for conservatives across the pond, in the U.K., had the iShares United Kingdom ETF (EWU) jumping 3.53%.
