The New WSW week 3 with Carl Ichan (I can't find the original message-thread.)
I watched, pretty late, now. Week 4 will be up shortly. Anyhow, I have a positive impression of Icahn's savvy. I smiled at one point when he was talking about using credit spreads and swaps and derivatives. "It's not so difficult to do, but very hard to explain" how he used and is using it to make money... .Reminded me of Gundlach: "...I wish I could teach this."
There is a big difference from reading about Icahn's dealings in the media with his portrayal as an activist investor, and watching the man in an interview, especially when he goes over his childhood and growing up. I enjoyed the show.
As I've noted before, you can invest with Icahn via Icahn Enterprises (IEP). I believe 30% of the company is invested with Icahn's hedge fund/s. The problem is that it is an MLP and does result in a K-1 at tax time.
