FYI: For income investors, high-yield municipal bonds offer benefits like high tax-equivalent yields and lower default risk than corporate bonds with similar ratings. High-yield munis are considered a separate asset class from investment grade munis — much the way junk and investment grade corporate bonds have distinct investment characteristics.
