The checks made out to the IRS next week will be a little larger for some investors. That’s because of tax increases on high earners in recent years that have bumped up the long-term capital gains rate to 23.8%, or a whopping 43.8% for assets held for less than a year. So it seemed an opportune time to check in with portfolio manager Don Peters, who has been helping investors lessen the taxman’s sting since 2000 through the T. Rowe Price Tax-Efficient Equity fund (ticker: PREFX ).
