Chuck Jaffe: This Man Showed That Investing Isn’t A Competition: Sheldon Jacobs
I too want to acknowledge and salute Sheldon Jacobs for his contributions to the investment industry writ large, but more importantly to me, for the impact that he had on my investment philosophy.
I exchanged thoughts with him at several AAII meetings and at several Money Show events in Las Vegas. He remembered my name. He was a humble man, always calm and reassuring. He did not sell; he allowed his simple ideas of portfolio construction to do the selling.
I will miss him. So too will the mutual fund community miss his wisdom.
Don't care for His portfolio selections, but this statement shows he knew something; " these days make investing complicated, and that’s not what average investors really want, and it doesn’t have to be that way.”
