Slow times.....

Hi guys!
As I look out over the snow.....it's quiet and calm.....looks clean and beautiful. The Mennonite man down the road from me....his daughter got married this week (Thursday). It's their marrying day.....must have been....60 buggies there with some vans. Also, had big snow that day.....got 8".......over 200 people in attendance. He said they got married in the barn 'cause it was the only place they had enough room for everybody. Big meal and all! I wonder how many of us would do that? What a humble people.....his eldest son just bought a farm upstate for $1.3 million. Quite good for an 8th grade education, I'd say. He will farm with mules and horses. Another self-made man in the works.....not looking for a handout from the government or worried about a quarter point interest rate rise or the price of oil. Not many of those kind of people left. Makes me think there's still hope for this great nation.
Changing gears, I see that (Finvis.com) no longer has 3D maps anymore. I really liked them. Does anybody know who else has them?
Also, the Wall Street Journal site changed their mutual fund page. I also liked that site. Things are gettin' tough. I'm losing good information sites. I bought FMIJX at Friday's close. Been watching it for a long time. Teaming it with DODFX for overseas allocations. Also looking to add more mid caps if this pullback deepens, and I really hope it does. Let's get it over with and move on already. I feel we're becoming so European with Janet....blah, blah, blah.....is one word so important? Things are getting better.....is that so bad? I must stop now before things get out of hand here.
God bless!

  • Hi @Puddnhead,

    Nice report.

Do you mean this heat map at Finviz?

    Regards,
    Catch
  • Farmers have all the money plus Gov. subsidies too...good business...relax in the winter and get married in a barn with 9" 0f snow...How do you beat it?
....oh i'm going to the beach, @78 degrees...... with less than $1.3 mil....and no horses
  • Hi Catch!
Yes, I do! It was 3D though....with many more companies in it. I used to look at it when I got home from work to make a 3:50PM trade or so. The maps I see now are not as likeable as that one.

    Tampa,
No subsidies are allowed.....the church forbids them. Winter is spent stripping tobacco (for cigars and chew). You lucky beach bum! LOL Drink one for me!
