ETF Market Vital Signs, March 3: Fatigue Sets In

FYI: Markets on Tuesday were bleak and slow moving, not unlike the parka-wearing toilers navigating slushy Manhattan streets. Asian stocks were first to feel inflammation in overnight trading. Pessimism spread to Europe, then the U.S. Defensive shares of U.S. utilities rebounded while growth-sensitive corners of the market fell. The Treasury bond market appeared to be squeezed by Actavis‘ (ACT) mammoth bond offering. Gold also declined. Trading volumes have been light in recent days and that trend continued Tuesday. Fatigue is likely to continue until Friday’s February jobs report.
Regards,
Ted
