FYI: I’m not a big believer in “star managers.” Nearly every mutual fund jockey ever identified by the media as a “guru” or “legend” has wound up tarnishing their reputation with mediocre or awful performance before they hung it up. But I know what star managers sound like, because hearing one makes even a jaded fund writer like me want to invest.
