Grantham’s GMO: Stockpicking Isn’t Dead, It Just Smelled Funny Last Year

FYI: For many, the epitaph for stockpicking was written with 2014′s dismal performance.

Not so fast, say Neil Constable and Matt Kadnar at GMO, the $120 billion investment house co-founded by the legendary Jeremy Grantham. Constable, head of his firm’s global equity team, and Kadnar, an asset allocator, make the case this week that 2014 was a most unusual year and therefore ought not be the reason for investors to sour on active management, however tempting that might be.

Ted
