Earnings: Health Care Leading, Energy Lagging

FYI: So far this earnings season, the average stock that has reported has gained 0.48% on its report day. (For companies that report in the morning, we use that day's change. For companies that report after the close, we use the next day's change.) Below is a breakdown of one-day performance on earnings by sector. As shown, Health Care and Telecom stocks that have reported have reacted the most positively, averaging one-day gains of more than 1%. Four other sectors are beating the broad market's 0.48% average one-day gain -- Consumer Discretionary, Materials, Technology and Industrials.
