Top Dividend Funds Have Staying Power

FYI: Mutual funds that favor companies with high dividend yields and/or steadily rising dividends beat the S&P 500 the past 15 years.
That's good news for those investing for retirement and who've hitched their wagons to dividend funds.
A $10,000 investment in the average dividend mutual fund on Dec. 31, 1999, would have ballooned to $25,127 by Feb. 3 this year. The same sum invested in the S&P 500 would have grown to $18,588 in that time, according to Morningstar Inc. data
