Top Large-Cap Growth Stock Funds: Back On Their Feet

FYI: The dot-com bubble burst clobbered the average large-cap growth stock mutual fund in terms of 15 years performance. Big-cap growth stock funds have yet to break even from the end of 1999, while their core and value mutual fund counterparts have beaten the market with decent gains.
A $10,000 investment in the average large-cap growth fund on Dec. 31, 1999, would have shrunk to $8,849 on Jan. 26 this year, according to Morningstar Inc. data. The same sum invested would have swelled to $22,651 in the average large-cap core fund, $21,964 in the average large-cap value fund and $18,648 in the S&P 500,
