Scott Burns: Introducing The Disgruntled Retiree Index
FYI: Allow me to introduce a new economic indicator. It doesn’t come from a government agency. Nor is it the creation of a right- or left-leaning think tank. In a land of indices and measures, there is so little attention to this problem that I had to create the measure myself. Regards, Ted http://assetbuilder.com/scott_burns/introducing_the_disgruntled_retiree_index
SS should be considered an employee paid-for (Gov. sponsored) retirement benefit, much like a ROTH account...nontaxable, terminates at death.....then pay taxes on the Rest of your income.... nobody hurt...........problem solved
I have always felt it was unjust to tax social security benefits. So why give those with a ROTH IRA a free pass on taxation from the growth of principal? It just does not seem fair does it? I look for ROTH IRA's to get taxed somewhere in the future; but, allowing principal to be withdrawn without taxation.
