FYI: President Obama told Congress during his State of the Union address on Jan. 20 that it was time to “turn the page” on the country’s economic struggles, noting that “the shadow of crisis has passed.”
He’s hoping, of course, to get support for some expensive agenda items that he believes would improve the future for the middle class.
While his message likely will be lost on Congress as well as investors, who still feel like their portfolio and investment outlook was damaged by the financial crisis of 2008, there’s a different disaster that investors are now closing the book on. As it fades into the deep recesses of our memory, investors will see the stock and bond markets differently as they try to decide how to navigate current volatility.
Regards,
Ted
