Hodges Capital Management made its name by beating the market with its small-cap stock picks, but the Dallas-based firm has advice for investing in big companies as well.

Craig Hodges, chief executive and co-portfolio manager of the Hodges Blue Chip 25 Fund (ticker: HDPBX ), has three decades of stock-picking experience. He launched the blue chip fund in 2009. In its early going the fund has turned in a lumpy performance; crushing the market, and peers, in 2013, but lagging last year, dragged down in part by energy holdings.
