I received an e-mail from Jerry R's children. I had signed up to receive his weekly upgrading mutual fund reports for the past year or two. Here is the e-mail...

All,
This is Jerry Rubin's son and daughter sending this message. By now you are probably wondering why you have not received your weekly mutual fund report the past two weeks. For the last two weeks, Dad was in the hospital battling complications from leukemia and chemotherapy. Dad's condition took a turn for the worse yesterday morning. He was transferred back to ICU after developing sepsis and respiratory issues. Our father passed away peacefully about 9:40 last night. There will not be any additional mutual fund reports.
One of Dad's great joys in life was studying the market and writing his weekly mutual fund reports and he appreciated your interest.
If you are interested in making a donation in our father's memory, please make your donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society:

In this case we were able to hear from family. There have been other people that stopped posting. We will probably never know what happened to them.
Thanks for letting us know of Jerry's passing. I sent condolences to his family to the email address listed below in your post and found it to still be active.
I think all will agree that Jerry was a most genuine person who was willing to help others along the path of investing. I know, I will miss his post.
Thanks again for letting us know ... It is indeed appreciated.
Sincerely,
Skeeter

Dad's memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28 at Gentry-Morrison Dukes Steen Beacon Hill Chapel. The obituary should appear in tomorrow's paper, The Lakeland Ledger, which is also online (theledger.com).
Thank you for all your e-mails expressing your condolences. They are a great source of comfort for our family and a wonderful tribute to him.
Sincerely,
Alan and Sheryl Rubin
