FYI: After five straight weeks of higher than expected jobless claims, this week we saw the first lower than expected reading since the first week of November. While economists were expecting first time claims to come in at 297K, the actual reading managed to come in slightly below at 294K. It wasn't a big beat, but better than expected is better than expected.
