If you have plenty of time and don't need money from your portfolio to pay for upcoming bills, consider investing in small caps.
That's a key lesson from data compiled by Morningstar for IBD. The data show that small-cap stocks outperformed five other major asset classes in 41 of the 88 years from 1926 and 2013
