Alternative Strategies Fund using another alternative

Litman Gregory has added Passport Capital as subadvisor to its Alternative Strategies Fund (MASNX/MASFX).

Passport will manage a long-short equity strategy, getting 10% of pie.:

Litman Gregory expects Passport to run with 70%-100% long exposure and 25%-40% short exposure for average net long exposure in the 30 – 75% range.

It holds John Burbank in high regard "as a big-picture, outside-the-box thinker" adding Tim Garry "seems to have an uncanny ability to incorporate disparate inputs from multiple sources."
