My grandad was decorated in the Meuse-Argonne campaign. Came from Ireland, next thing you know, he's in uniform. The Australians (and NZ?) took the most losses at Galipoli, too. Watching that series I linked to above, I learned that EVERY SINGLE soldier from Newfoundland was lost. It was not yet a Canadian province.
