FYI: After two straight weeks of slightly higher than expected readings, Initial Jobless Claims came in weaker than expected for the latest week. While economists were forecasting a level of 285K, the actual reading came in at 278K. With another week where claims came in below 300K, October 2014 represents the first time since February 2006 that claims were below 300K for the entire month.
