FYI: U.S. rallied on Wednesday, giving the S&P 500 its 36th record finish of 2014, after Republicans took control of the Senate in Tuesday’s election. Shares of large companies outpaced smaller ones, while energy stocks bounced back after a string of sharp losses. A strong dollar continued to pressure gold and emerging markets who are commodity exporters.
