Real Estate Funds Among The Top 3 Sectors: REITs Roar Back As Investors Hunt For Yield: Two Stories

FYI: Five of the top-performing sector mutual funds of the past 15 years focus on real estate. Most of them are also way ahead of the S&P 500 year to date.
Nuveen Real Estate Securities Fund produced an average annual return of 13.94% over the past 15 years vs. 4.75% for the S&P 500, according to Morningstar. The fund is also up 23% year to date vs. the broad stock market index's 8%. The fund has a 12-month yield of 2.47% vs. the S&P 500's 1.96%
